It's all on HMS Wellington

Welcome to HMS Wellington
A Unique piece of Royal Navy History In The Heart of London.

HMS WELLINGTON is owned and operated by The Wellington Trust, Registered Charity number 1109066. The Wellington Trust Patron is Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal.

The main charitable objects of the Wellington Trust are Education and Conservation. She is one of only 16 major RN historic ships that survive and is listed on the Historic Ships Register.

There are three main areas of activity onboard HMS WELLINGTON:

01

A unique, Central and Inspiring London Location

Events, Conferences, Weddings & Office Space
It’s All on the HMS Wellington

Our venue hire enterprise provides vital self-sustaining revenue to fund our charitable objects. As a former livery hall, the spaces onboard were modified to provide a completely unique and charming set of spaces to hold a variety of events – from intimate meetings and lunches, to hiring the entire ship for a special, private, and exclusive event.

Full details of our event spaces onboard can be found on our venue hire page.

Hiring HMS WELLINGTON is a great way to have both a fantastic and memorable event, as well as directlycontributing to maintaining and preserving this national historic maritime treasure.

Education & Learning

As an island nation, all things maritime are important to us. 95% of our trade travels by sea. HMS WELLINGTON is a testament to this and the enduring nature of the relationship between the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy as lived through the Battle of the Atlantic, in which over 100,000 lives were lost.

The ambition of the Wellington Trust is for HMS WELLINGTON to become a memorial ship to those men and women who fell victim to torpedo attacks and the Battle of the Atlantic.
We are planning to open to the public next year so we can fulfil this ambition and expand the general access to the ship in 2025. The Wellington story is an important one to tell.

With our education activities, we have an education programme tied to the national curriculum. We are currently reviewing our education activities, which we plan to restart in 2025.

For more information on these activities onboard, please visit our
Education and Learning page.
